Why Do I Need A Lawyer If I Am Injured In An Auto Accident ?

Assuming you are not at fault for the collision and there is a possibility that you may recover money for your medical bills, pain and suffering, disability, temporary and permanent injuries, etc.... the at fault driver's insurance company does NOT want you to have legal representation.  Frankly, the adjuster for the at fault driver's insurance company wants to sell you something - the emotional feeling - that you are going to be treated fairly and that you do not need your own lawyer to represent you.

Why?  Because the insurance companies and their adjusters know that if they can keep you away from a knowledgeable attorney that it will be much easier and cheaper for them to settle the claim than if someone with equal knowledge of the law and negotiation protocols is representing you - the injured party.
